Katy Bennett began dancing in the North East of England at the age of 4, taking to it instantly and winning many open championships while placing at the British & American Nationals, and the Great Britain Championships.
Katy joined the Hannon Murphy School of Irish Dancing at 13 and her success continued, winning the North East Regional Championships and qualifying yearly for the World Irish Dancing Championships.
At Hannon Murphy, Katy was also a vital member of an 8-hand team which went on to achieve high world placings. Katy has competed all over the world, with San Francisco being the highlight of her dancing career. Now at 25, dancing remains Katy’s passion and she is very much looking forward to being part of Murphy’s Legacy.
