Celtic music has been close to Faliq’s soul ever since he learned the Scottish Bagpipe at the age of 13 while studying in high school.

Since then, he was exposed to Scottish ‘March & Strathspey’ Bagpipe music as well as Irish ‘Jig & Reel’ music and quickly fascinated with the sound of Uilleann Pipes when listening to James Horner’s Braveheart OST and Hymn to the Sea.

Graduating with a Diploma in Music from the local university, Faliq took up the Uilleann Pipes as his major instrument along with other wind instruments such as Tin Whistle, Flute, and Saxophone. As a self taught musician, Faliq has been travelling and performing extensively at numerous festivals across the globe such as SXSW 2016 in USA, Ireland, UK, Peru, Chile, and throughout Asia. His latest trio project, FAT (Faliq Auri Trio) is a kickstart of his initiative in promoting Celtic Music, mainly Irish and Scottish, in his native land, Malaysia, and also to promote his original compositions.

Faliq joined ‘Murphy’s Celtic Legacy‘ for the 2017 Cyprus Tour and is looking forward to continued co-operation with the show.
