Chris Hannon, 36, ‘Murphy’s Celtic Legacy’ Lead Dancer and Show Creator, was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.
He began Irish dancing at the age of 8 under the direction of his mother and grandmother at their own internationally recognised North East based ‘Hannon Murphy School of Irish Dancing’,. Having competed in every major across the world, he left Newcastle, at the young age of 16, to tour with Michael Flatley and his show ‘Lord of the Dance’ and ‘Feet of Flames’.
Chris worked his way up the ranks to perform the leading role of ‘Don Dorcha’ by the age of 20 and was soon performing alongside Michael in both ‘Lord of the Dance’ and ‘Feet of Flames’. He enjoyed 13 terrific years touring around the world, including the USA, Mexico, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Leaving Lord in 2012, Chris went onto the next stage of his career went after his goal of creating his own show. After producing four successful sellout pilot shows throughout 2013/14, Chris knew that the time was finally right to launch his own show. With an epic original soundtrack and a team of the best in Irish dance and music, along with sheer determination, Chris and his show are now starting to be recognised as world players. Having toured the UK, Middle East and France, performed on MSC Cruises and had sell out shows in Cyprus, the next few years look to be an epic adventure.
Chris is extremely excited and proud to be bringing ‘Murphy’s Celtic Legacy’ to the USA and Canada for an incredible 8 week tour.
